Service Description

"Clyde Waters" aka "The Mother’s Malison" is Child Ballad #216 -- a murder ballad collected and documented by Francis James Child. It's also a beautiful tune to play on the dulcimer, and a lovely ballad to sing with dulcimer accompaniment. Handouts will include tablature for several variations, for a variety of skill levels. Skills covered will include noter-drone playing, alternate tunings, chord accompaniment for singing, and creating interesting arrangements for songs with many verses. A video archive of the class is also provided.
