Tuesdays from 5:00 - 6:00pm CST (6 - 7 Eastern, 4 - 5 Mountain, 3 - 4 Pacific) Each week of the Advent Series will include two of Erin Mae’s favorite Advent pieces and an Advent Devotion lead by Michele Gourley. Handouts will be provided in advance and a video archive will be available to everyone who registers. Arrangements will be accessible for novice-intermediate players. Re-tuning and use of a capo may be required. Advent is a season of the liturgical year observed in many Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting in preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas and the return of Jesus at the Second Coming. There are many hymns and Appalachian carols associated with this season, but they are not as well-known as Christmas Carols. November 28th: Hope "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" & "Coventry Carol" December 6th: Love "In the Bleak Midwinter" & "Down Came an Angel" December 13th: Joy "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" & "Sussex Carol" December 20th: Peace "Still, Still, Still" & "Christ Child's Lullaby"
