Shenandoah

Service Description

“Shenandoah” is a beloved American folk song from the early 19th Century. As folk songs go, it is difficult to pin down its exact origins, and many different variants of the lyrics exist. It appears to have originated as part of the shanty-song tradition, by folks working on river boats on the Missouri River. We’ll learn a simple chord-accompaniment on the mountain dulcimer first, then learn to play the tune in a chord-melody style, all in the key of D in DAd tuning.
