Service Description

This 6-week intensive course will give you the confidence to play with other musicians in a variety of different settings. Discover how the mountain dulcimer can fit into all different kinds of ensembles and jams by using the full breadth of its range. We’ll explore ways to play in a variety of keys (with or without a capo or re-tuning); different accompaniment strategies; and how to make your instrument easier to hear alongside louder instruments. Uncover all of Erin Mae’s tips and tricks from 20+ years of jamming at bluegrass and old time festivals, as well as performing with a variety of different ensembles. Refine your Technique by playing well with others, no matter the key, instrument combination, or genre! **Refining Technique Courses are designed for players who are confident at learning new music and comfortable with their instruments, ready to dig deeper into the nuances of musical expression and understanding. They are geared toward upper-intermediate to advanced players, but all levels with a deep commitment to learning are welcome.**
