*Dedicate 4-weeks to gaining a better grasp of the language of music. Music Theory can be a key to help you unlock a deeper understanding of how music and the mountain dulcimer work together. Many of us learn to play by reading tablature, but feel lost when asked to improvise or speak the language of other musicians. We’ll cover musical vocabulary; construction of scales, chords, modes; how to transpose to different keys; and WHY any of this matters to us as mountain dulcimer players. Refine your technique by truly understanding how music works instead of just where to put your fingers! *Refining Technique Courses are designed for players who are confident at learning new music and comfortable with their instruments, ready to dig deeper into the nuances of musical expression and understanding. They are geared toward upper-intermediate to advanced players, but all levels with a deep commitment to learning are welcome.**
