Liberty (take 2)

Sunday 2:00PM CDT (UTC-5)

Service Description

"Liberty" is a traditional fiddle tune played widely in old-time and bluegrass circles. It's an up-beat D tune full of arpeggios. It tends to be avoided by mountain dulcimer players because of its big jumps up and down the fretboard when played in drone-melody style. However, it lays out very smoothly as a flat-picking tune. Handouts will include tablature for several variations of "Liberty" for every skill level. Skills covered will include flat-picking, hammer-ons, pull-off's, in-between-note fills, and strategies for playing the tune up-to-tempo. A video archive of the class is also provided. [our first attempt to do this class live on 6/12 was thwarted by tech gremlins -- we're trying again on 6/19 -- hope you can join us!]
