Fancy Picking - One String at a Time
4 Weeks / Level: 1-2
Available spots
Service Description
This course brings the resonance of your mountain dulcimer into focus one string at a time, exploring the picking techniques of finger-picking, cross-picking, and flat-picking. Finger-picking is the gentlest way to play the mountain dulcimer — using your fingers to pluck the strings instead of a pick. Cross-picking is using a pick to play arpeggiated patterns across the strings. Flat-picking is used when the melody is played across all three strings. You will learn how to accurately pluck the intended string, how to improvise with these techniques, and how to increase your speed. Build confidence in fancy picking, one string at a time. DAd tuning **Building Confidence Courses are designed to teach you basic skills and help you start with excellent technique as you learn the mountain dulcimer. They are geared toward new to novice players, but all levels are welcome**
