Service Description

Boys of Bluehill is a lively Irish Hornpipe. Hornpipes are characterized by their lilting dotted eighth-sixteenth-- "long-short"-- rhythm pattern. This one is a classic and one of my favorites to play. This is a D tune, which we'll learn in DAd. We'll be flat-picking -- playing the melody across the strings rather than all on the melody string. The focus of Tea and a Tune is learning tunes by rote -- using your ear, your eyes, and a gentle play-after-me-method. You will learn the tune without sheet music in front of you! Even people who struggle to play by ear will find that they are able to play and memorize these tunes! Sheet music will be provided upon completion of the live class. Classes will be recorded, and all registered participants will have access to the recording for at least 1 year. Make yourself a cup of tea, relax, and join friends in learning a tune.
